Career History
Patrick started his journey into Cosmetology by moving from Peoria to St. Louis Missouri in 1971, Excella Beauty College was "the best in the country".
He worked for the two largest salon chains in the world from 1971 to 1976. Returning to Peoria five years later,  he found that his experience in Missouri was not recognized by Illinois.  He therefore proceeded to obtain his Illinois licence.
Now licensed in two states and always striving for perfection, he traveled throughout North America, from in salon seminars in Canada to Sebastian International in L.A. Jingles and The Chadwicks in N.Y. were some intermediate stops. Then it was Europe. He refined his skills through schooling with the modern-day Maestro of hair styling transformation, Vidal Sasson and with Alan International in London, England.
In 1984 Patrick started his own business known as "Patrick Stephen Essentials in Hair Design" in his birthplace of Peoria Illinois.
That same year an international trade publication "Modern Salon Magazine" which serves 175,000 salons in France, Great Britain, Spain and the United States, featured him in their "Technical's" section which showed step-by step photographic instructions for particular procedures.
To this day at Shear Pzazz in Peoria Heights his decades in the beauty business is reflected by his ability to give each client, Men or Women, cutting edge trends, individualized hair designs and ease of styling.
